The benefits of telehealth are tremendous, which include the ability to enhance patient care and access, while also lowering overall costs.
In terms of challenges, telehealth is a new field and healthcare providers need to seek out partners who can help deal with billing, logistics, licensing, credentialing and service support. All of these elements play an important part in allowing telehealth to be the foundation for providing timely care.
In terms of priority investments, health providers need to develop the right infrastructure in video conferencing, security and data centers. Staffing, training and support are also other critical areas of investment for bringing telehealth to life.
